Week 27 - 50 Crafts/52 Weeks

Whatever happened to my 50/52? Well...I'm still working on it. I'm actually backlogged quite a few crafts, and those posts with be forthcoming in the next few days...and the majority of my crafting can't even be posted until sometime this fall!

Having a job where I sew 40 hours a week does put a little damper on my at home crafting, as well. I'm busy doing crafts for the Governor's mansion, the Denver Art Museum, and various private collectors all day long so when I get home I'm less apt to craft.

This week's craft is a bookshelf that we made here - Jon definitely helped on this project!

We used these two salvaged windows and of course regular cheap pine wood. It looks great in our bedroom and holds twice as many books as the ikea shelf we had did! I am surprised at how it suddenly doesn't look like we are drowning in books any more since they all fit on a shelf. Before we had books not only in boxes but lined up along the floor as well.

  1. LOVE THIS!!!! Makes me want to find some old windows and do this, too! What a fabulous idea. It is so hard to find glass-fronted bookshelves, and they are always crazy expensive. This is awesome!

  2. Very nice! Great job and can't wait to come visit and see them in person.

  3. I love it! It looks great! :)

  4. Looks great!! I want that in my house too!
