Week 2.1 - 50 Crafts/52 Weeks

Fact 1: I watched three seasons of The Tutors in a row over winter break.
Fact2: I have been listening to a lot of Air, particularly Talkie Walkie.

My friend Morgan gave me a yard of fabric from Ikea when she cleaned out her fabric stash. I put that into the mix, decided I wanted a neo-ruff on a shirt and came up with this:

Window Pane Neo-Ruff Shirt

It's a super simple tank, it took no time at all - maybe two hours from design to finish? I wasn't sure how I wanted to fit it - I'm pretty into boxy clothing right now, and wanted to keep it loose but not so loose I looked like I was wearing a tent.

I decided I was just going to sew and see how to make it fit. I put four rows of gathers on the back to bring it in. Even though the gathers are the same length they pull in more and more fabric the lower they get. I really like that little detail and it really, really made the overall fit of the garment work better.
